Founded in 1939, LUMSA is the second oldest university in Rome and is located in the heart of the city. Inspired by Catholic values, LUMSA is a private university, committed to the education of young people and professionals. It offers academic excellence tailored to the needs of the individual student.

LUMSA’ ’s headquarters are close to St. Peter ’s Square. There are four University buildings, a few minutes’ walk from each other. There are also campuses in Palermo (Sicily) and Taranto (Apulia). LUMSA is a member of Euraxess, FUCE-IFCU and EUA networks.

 At LUMSA, we seek not only to prepare students for success in their careers, but also to inspire, support and help them become who they are.

There are 2,500 graduate and under graduate enrollments every year, with a total student population over 9,000 from all over Italy and 57 other countries. Last year, LUMSA awarded over 2,500 degrees and granted financial aid in our commitment to providing access to higher education for students from any economic background.

The university offers academic programs of bachelor and master degrees in such   areas as:

LUMSA students have the chance to study abroad with our international exchanges and agreements with 362 European and 40 non-European universities, as well as studying in a stimulating, multicultural environment that includes over 300 international students from 55 different countries. LUMSA is one of only three Italian universities awarded the ECTS Label for our Erasmus+ program.  

LUMSA is also an examination center accredited to issue the main international language certificates: Certificate of Proficiency in English - TOEFL and Certificate of Italian Language - CELI.

  Studying at LUMSA means also the possibility to access a series of scholarships.

The teaching and services we provide help students to complete their studies in the projected timescale; the University's overall results on this point remain above the national average (75,2% compared to 58,4%) which gives students a head start in preparing for employment.

LUMSA offers specialist work placements through the LUMSA Talent Academy, following the Job Guidance strategy, along with opportunities to obtain major international qualifications, internships and apprenticeships (over 2,050 per year).
